Prepping your skin before an event is all about enhancing radiance, ensuring makeup longevity (if you're wearing any), and calming any last-minute issues. Here’s a step-by-step prep routine to follow, ideally starting 3–5 days before the event and continuing the day of:

3–5 Days Before the Event

1. Exfoliate Gently (1–2x)
Use a mild chemical exfoliant (like lactic acid or PHA) to remove dead skin cells and boost glow. Avoid anything too harsh to prevent irritation.

2. Hydrate Deeply
Use a hydrating serum (hyaluronic acid, panthenol, or glycerin) and a rich moisturizer, especially at night.

3. Sheet Masks or Overnight Masks
Apply 1–2 hydrating sheet masks or sleep masks throughout the week to plump and prep the skin.

4. Avoid New Products
Stick to what your skin already loves to reduce the risk of irritation or breakouts.

Day Before the Event

1. Light Exfoliation (if skin isn’t sensitive)
Use a gentle exfoliating toner or a warm washcloth to slough off dry skin.

2. Soothing Mask
Use a calming, hydrating mask with ingredients like centella, aloe, or chamomile.

3. Ice or Cooling Tools
De-puff with chilled spoons, jade rollers, or ice cubes wrapped in a cloth.

4. Spot Treatment (if needed)
Use a pimple patch or gentle acne treatment if a breakout appears.

Day Of the Event

1. Cleanse Gently
Use a gentle cleanser to start with a fresh base.

2. Hydrating Toner or Essence
Boost moisture to help makeup apply smoothly.

3. Brightening Serum (optional)
Use a vitamin C or niacinamide serum for glow (only if it’s already part of your routine).

4. Lightweight Moisturizer
Choose one that creates a smooth, hydrated base—especially for makeup.

5. Eye Cream or Patches
Use cooling eye patches or a lightweight cream to reduce puffiness.

6. Primer or SPF (if daytime)
Apply SPF and/or makeup primer to help everything stay in place.

Optional Extras:

  • Lip scrub + balm for smooth lipstick application

  • Facial mist to set or refresh your skin/makeup throughout the event

  • Blotting paper or powder to reduce shine
