Cooking ribs in the oven is actually pretty easy — and they turn out super tender! Here’s a simple method:
Ingredients:
-
Rack of pork ribs (baby back or spare ribs)
-
Your favorite dry rub (or just salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder)
-
Barbecue sauce (optional)
Instructions:
-
Prep the ribs:
-
Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C) — low and slow is key.
-
Remove the thin membrane from the back of the ribs (if it’s still on) for extra tenderness.
-
Pat the ribs dry with paper towels.
-
-
Season:
-
Generously coat both sides of the ribs with your dry rub.
-
Let them sit for about 10–15 minutes to absorb the flavors.
-
-
Wrap and bake:
-
Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with foil.
-
Cover the ribs tightly with another piece of foil (you can also individually wrap them) to trap the moisture.
-
Bake in the oven for 2.5 to 3 hours until they’re fork-tender.
-
-
Finish (optional but delicious):
-
Uncover the ribs and brush them with barbecue sauce.
-
Turn the oven to broil and broil the ribs for 3–5 minutes until the sauce gets bubbly and slightly caramelized. Keep a close eye so they don't burn!
-
-
Rest and serve:
-
Let the ribs rest for about 5–10 minutes before cutting into them.
-
Slice and enjoy!
