Roasting garlic is super easy and makes it sweet, mellow, and spreadable — here’s how:
-
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
-
Prep the garlic: Take a whole head of garlic and slice off the top (about ¼ inch) to expose the tops of the cloves.
-
Drizzle with olive oil: Place the garlic head on a piece of foil or in a small baking dish. Drizzle generously with olive oil, making sure it seeps into the cloves.
-
Wrap it up: If using foil, wrap the garlic into a tight little packet. If using a dish, cover it with a lid or more foil.
-
Roast: Bake for 35–45 minutes, until the cloves are deeply golden and very soft.
-
Cool and squeeze: Let it cool slightly, then squeeze the roasted cloves out like toothpaste!
You can spread it on bread, mash it into mashed potatoes, whisk it into dressings, or stir it into pasta sauces — it’s like roasted gold. 🧄✨
