Cooking couscous is crazy easy — it’s basically just steaming! Here's the classic method:

  1. Boil water or broth — use about 1 cup liquid for every 1 cup couscous.

  2. Season the liquid with a little salt, and a drizzle of olive oil or a small pat of butter.

  3. Pour the hot liquid over the couscous in a bowl or pot, then cover tightly (lid, plate, foil — whatever traps steam).

  4. Let it sit for 5 minutes, no peeking!

  5. Fluff with a fork — gently rake through it to separate the grains and make it light and fluffy.

You can add herbs, lemon zest, toasted nuts, or veggies after fluffing, depending on what vibe you're going for.
